I am down 18.2 pounds in 8 weeks!
It has been a while since my last blog. I am still a DBA at SunTrust and still live in the same place. Life is pretty much the same, except that I am working on getting healthier.
On Jan 2, 2012, we started what we call a Healthy Eating Program, HEP for short. We are walking 4-5 days a week, at least 2 miles at a time, sometimes 3. We are also using a new cookbook called "The Comfort Food Diet" from Taste of Home. We have cooked more meals from this book than all the other cookbooks we have ever had. I must say, every single thing we have tried has been excellent! Normally when we are trying to eat healthy, we get into a rut of eating the same thing over and over. This makes the HEP not so enjoyable and down right boring. I know that food is supposed to be just sustenance, but, as Southern people, we really see food as a pleasure, not just as fuel.

I just thought I would like a place to put down my thoughts. If anyone else finds them interesting, that is great.

Back to work!
Today was my first day back at work in a week. Man, was it hard to get up this morning at 5:00 AM. So, when the alarm went off, I waited until 6:00 AM to get up. Today is one of the 3 days a week I have to drive in to work. I feel very blessed and lucky that I am able to work from home 2 days a week. I live 53 miles from the office, so it really does help save gas.
I made my usual stop at the Waffle House to get my morning cup of coffee. My usual waitresses were not there, so I actually had to place my order. Then as I was walking out, there was a guy backing into a space beside my car. I noticed 4 other spaces with no cars nearby, but he chose the one beside me. Not a problem if he knew how to back his truck up. He backed in and out 4 times as I walked to my car. Goofball!
When I started my day, I had 458 new e-mails. Needless to say, I still have a few to get to. Not a bad day over all. Let's hope that tomorrow is more balanced. I am going to end this now before I fall asleep. Sorry if this blog did not "flow". I will try to write my next one before I get so tired. Contacts out; shower; bed!

Will work for land
There is a tract of land near me that has had my attention for a while now. It was 20 acres with a house that is bank owned. I just noticed that there is now going to be an auction on August 12th online only for 17 acres of land without the house. Land to sell, regardless of price. I would love to have this. I am not wanting to move any time soon, but I would love to have land like this to move to in 10 or 15 years. I guess I will keep my eyes open for deals like this in the future. Unless someone wants to buy it for me. LOL. I do have a 1966 Belgian made Browning Sweet 16 and tons of Beanie Babies I would be willing to trade. Just thought I would share one of the many "deals" that are available as a result of the recession. It seems like if you had some extra cash and were in need of land, or are willing to hold it for a while, you can get some super great bargains.

Writer's Block?
Why is it when I did not have a blog, I could think of things I wanted to say all the time? Now that I actually took the time and setup a blog where I can say whatever I want, I cannot think of what to say. I guess I will just have to sit down and start typing and see what comes out. I don't write about politics, so don't expect that.
I guess I will give a little info about me and what I like. I am a computer geek who loves his PS3. I am also a sports fan. My favorites are football and NASCAR.
That is all I can think of for now. Hopefully I will think of more soon. I would like to post every day, but who knows. I do have opinions on a lot of topics so send me a question, if you like.
